It is amazing to me that another year has come to a close! Is it me or are the years going faster and faster???!!!! Maybe because we all so very active and goal oriented that time passes more quickly! I am thinking I would like it to slow...just a bit!
As we close the door to 2012 take a few minutes to think about and share your favorite accomplishments!
Let me see....here are a few of mine......
1.) I love that I accomplished making new friends and that they are progressing in thier fitness goals! I am honored that a few will be traveling with me to VA Beach to run the 1/2 marathon and for one it will be her first! I LOVE being a part of this experience and I am thrilled that I will be in many races with my friends as they accomplish new goals in their running!
2.) I was a part of training and cherrleading and support for my friends in their races this year! Bethany, Jen, Erin, Meg and Alexis' first marathon! Booma qualifying for Boston! Christina, Twilite, Jonathan, Jessica and Brooke kicking asphalt in yet another marathon. Kim and many others in many half marathons.
3.) Running 7 half marathons in the year! Staying injury free!
4.) Trying some hi-intensity work in classes - kicking my and the butts of others!
5.) Realizing that running a marathon was not in the best interest of my knee and sticking to my decision!
6.) Listening - really listening to my body and sleeping in when I needed!
Many of you know that I am not a fan of New Year's Resolutions....why you ask....well.....I have already heard today from different sources the nothion of "breaking your New Years resolution" or how long will it take to break, etc...etc. There is always this "give up" twist to the resoluton that seems to be acceptable! YIKES! So...to me I like to make goals.....they are focused and if made correctly .. they are achievable!
Let me share a few of my goals......
1.) To continue to supprt and assist all of my friends in attaining their goals!
2.) To be the best instructor, coach and mentor I can be. To be motivating and dedicated!
3.) To be a loyal, trusting and honest friend!
4.) To continue to listen to my body - to rest and take breaks.
5.) To make more of an effort in eating clean!
6.) To run each race to the best of my ability - HAVE FUN - and ACCEPT my finish time!
So...my friends...take a few minutes...REFLECT, BE PROUD, THINK, SHARE your learnings accomplishments, goals and commitments. You know what they say about putting things in writing!!!!
Make 2013 the BEST YOU!!
Stay Strong - Keep Focused!

1. Complete my first 1/2 marathon on March 17th (Virginia Beach)
2. Put a stop to the behaviors that make the scale go up.
Attached is a photo that I've decided to use as my mantra for 2013. Its meaning is going to be different for everyone but for me I'm taking it one day at a time, one run at a time, one race at a time.....next up ....Chilly Chili run on Sunday in Caz....
